Behold the Wildwood (Ebook)

England, 1226. The Forest of Dean.

Before he became a legend, he was just a man.

Mabon Richardson arrives at St Briavels Castle as a temporary verderer — a guardian of the King’s forest — and expects little more than long days in the saddle and the quiet of the trees. He's looking forward to the freedom, even if means enduring the petty jostlings of ambitious men seeking royal favour. Ambition holds no place in Mabon's heart. He's more at home living close to the land, and the creatures who share it.

But the Forest of Dean is no ordinary woodland. Ancient beyond reckoning, alive in ways no royal charter can account for, it does not give up its secrets easily.

Until now.

He appears without warning and without explanation — barefoot in the dark, beautiful and dangerous, speaking of the forest as though it breathes and thinks and chooses. But Ghillie is like no one Mabon has ever met. And he has never wanted another man’s company more.

Their meeting will cost Mabon everything he thought he was — and change him from man to legend.

A queer MM historical fantasy rooted in British folklore. For readers who love slow burn romance, ancient magic, and forests that are astonishing to behold.

An origin story from the world of The Diabolus Chronicles.
